We know from speaking with other manufacturers that the time it takes to get products from development to manufacture is an ongoing challenge. And while this may appear to be very obvious, what is less apparent is what most successful manufacturers are actually doing to address this challenge.
From our discussions with manufacturers, contributing factors to this challenge include:
· Unrealistic lead times agreed by others
· Existing product range poorly documented
· Difficulty in getting ideas down on paper for development
· Existing product range not flexible enough to meet current demands
In the Projects link above you will find some individual case studies on what other manufacturers are doing to address this challenge and the contributing factors. Due to confidentiality agreements, some clients names cannot be revealed, and most products are not identified for there intended use.
